Refund Policy

The short version. TechBench does not offer refunds. All purchases — subscriptions, tier upgrades, branch unlocks, and packages — are non-refundable once content access begins. By completing a purchase, you explicitly acknowledge this and waive your EU cooling-off right. This is explained in full below.

1. Why there are no refunds

TechBench delivers digital content. The moment you complete a purchase, you gain immediate access to the content associated with that purchase. Because the content has been delivered and access has begun, the nature of the product makes a meaningful refund model impossible without creating a system that is trivially exploited — access the content, request a refund, keep the knowledge.

This is not a policy designed to be aggressive. It is the honest consequence of what TechBench is: a digital learning product where value is transferred at the moment of access, not at the moment of completion.

2. The EU cooling-off right and your waiver

EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)) gives consumers a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. This right does not apply to digital content where:

At every point of purchase on TechBench, you are presented with an explicit acknowledgement before payment is taken. By checking that box and completing the purchase, you give express consent to immediate delivery and confirm that you understand the cooling-off right does not apply. This waiver is recorded at the time of purchase.

If you did not see or were not presented with this acknowledgement at the point of purchase, contact us at hello@techbench.it immediately and before accessing any content.

3. What each purchase type means

Access begins immediately. No refund for the current period. Cancel any time to stop future charges.
Tier upgrade
Non-refundable
Tier progression is one-way. Accessing a higher tier unlocks it permanently at that price point.
Branch unlock (€44.99)
Non-refundable
One-time unlock. Tree content is accessible immediately upon payment.
Software or cert package
Non-refundable
Package content is accessible immediately upon payment.

4. Cancellation is not a refund

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future billing at the end of your current billing period. You retain access until that date. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of the current period's payment — you have paid for and have access to the service for that period.

After cancellation, your account, progress data, certificates, and unlocks are preserved indefinitely. If you resubscribe, everything is restored immediately.

7. How to request a refund

If you believe you are entitled to a refund under section 5, email hello@techbench.it with the subject line "Refund request — [your account email]". Include a description of the issue and, where relevant, the date of the charge. We will respond within 5 business days.

Refunds, where approved, are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. Processing time is typically 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.

8. Disputes and chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank or card provider. Most billing issues can be resolved quickly by email. Chargebacks filed without first contacting us for unresolved disputed charges may result in account suspension while the dispute is investigated.

Your statutory rights as a consumer, including the right to raise a dispute with your national consumer authority or via the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, are not affected by this policy.
