This Privacy Policy explains how TechBench ([Legal entity — to be updated], "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you visit techbench.it or sign up to our waitlist.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian data protection law.

1. Who We Are

TechBench is an online IT career development platform, currently in pre-launch phase, based in Italy. For data protection enquiries contact us at hello [at] techbench.it

2. What Data We Collect

During our pre-launch phase, we only collect:

• Email address — when you sign up to the TechBench waitlist
• Signup timestamp — the date and time you submitted the form
• Consent record — confirmation that you ticked the consent checkbox

We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment data, or any sensitive personal data at this stage. We do not use tracking cookies beyond essential technical cookies.

3. Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

• Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): You explicitly ticked a consent checkbox before submitting your email. This is the legal basis for adding you to our waitlist and sending you a launch notification email.
• You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email we send, or by emailing us.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To send you one launch notification email when TechBench goes live
• To send you a welcome confirmation email when you join the waitlist
• We will not send marketing emails or newsletters without your separate consent
• We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes

5. Who We Share Data With

We use the following third-party services. Each acts as a data processor under our instruction:

• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — email delivery and contact list management. Data stored in the EU.
• Netlify — website hosting.
• Supabase — database infrastructure. EU region (Ireland).

We do not share your data with any other third parties.

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on servers located within the European Union. We have confirmed EU data residency on all services we use.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

• Waitlist contacts: Until you unsubscribe, or until 12 months after TechBench launches — whichever comes first
• On deletion request: We will delete your data within 30 days of your request

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

As an EU resident, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, as well as the right to withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) at garanteprivacy.it

9. Cookies

Our pre-launch landing page uses no tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. A single essential session cookie may be used to ensure the form functions correctly. When the full platform launches, we will implement a full cookie policy and consent mechanism.

10. Security

We use HTTPS encryption on all pages, EU-based data storage, and access controls on all third-party services we use.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform develops. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
